Summary

Advance Financial is looking for a credit risk analyst for its credit products (FLEX line of credit and Installment loans). The role requires working directly on several aspects of the card business - determining credit underwriting criteria at originations and line management policies for existing customers to minimize risk and improve profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy acquisition management strategy: underwriting, pricing, and line assignment
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasting models to forecast profitability of new vintages
  • Develop and deploy comprehensive credit line management strategy covering the credit life cycle: early life vs mature; graduation; CLI vs CLD; LIR; etc.
  • Design randomized tests to improve credit strategy
  • Improve strategy and model performance by exploring new credit bureau attributes and alternative data sources

Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Math or related field
  • 1+ years analytical experience in the consumer finance industry
  • 1+ years of experience leveraging data tools such as SQL, R, Python
  • 2+ years of experience conducting underwriting and pricing related analytics for credit cards or loans
  • Ability to translate analysis results into clearly defined and implementable strategies/rules
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills with key attention to detail
  • High level of inquisitiveness, initiative and critical thinking
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management
