The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for compiling and maintaining accounts payable records. He or She will manage Accounts Payable transactions and certain bank activities in order to limit risk of loss in a high volume cash intensive retail business. The accounting staff are gatekeepers for all transactions that occur on the retail store and payment center level. A successful candidate will deliver exceptional customer service at all times and serve as a role model to other employees in attitude and performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensures appropriate documentation and approval for all invoices prior to payment
  • Assists with preparation for the weekly check and EFT runs for multiple entities
  • Answers vendor and management inquiries
  • Handles travel and entertainment expenses through Expensify in compliance with corporate guidelines.
  • Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files
  • Complies with IRS regulations on vendor W-9 documentation and 1099 reporting
  • Assists in monthly financial close
  • Assists in sales and use tax reporting and compliance
  • Prepares analysis of accounts as required
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures, state and federal laws
  • Participates in on-going learning and development of the Accounting function
  • Treats customers and co-workers with dignity and respect
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

    • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree in a business-related discipline preferred
    • Must have a strong attention to detail
    • Must be an effective communicator with both peers and management
    • Someone with the ability to be able to work independently, but be able to communicate and ask for information from peers
    • Must have great analytical and organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail are required
    • Must be able to effectively mentor, handle multiple tasks, duties, responsibilities and shifting timelines while meeting deadlines
    • Proficiency in Netsuite, Microsoft Office, Google Documents and Expensify experience preferred

    Physical Demands
